About the Event
Come on in and help us celebrate the life of one of the Midwest’s Magnificent Music Mavens – the amazing SHARON MOORE!
Sharon started playing clubs when she was 15 (in 1953) and over the course of a half century she graced the stages of pretty much every piano bar from the Twin Cities to Duluth. She was the musical director for many theater productions as well as being the accompanist for many years for the St. Paul Winter Carnival’s “Klondike Kates.”
Innately and insanely humorous … she took that gift onstage in the long running Dudley Riggs’ show, “What’s So Funny About Being Female?”
Twin Cities’ piano bar lovers in the 80s and 90s will remember her holding court on the second floor of The Gay 90s in The Casablanca Lounge. She accompanied, mentored, entertained, schooled, enchanted and befriended a myriad of artists in the community from musical theatre veterans and novices to divas and drag queens.
Sharon passed away on November 13th in Two Harbors, MN at the age of 85 with her beloved family by her side. She would have loved nothing more than for those of us who were blessed to know her and those who are only learning of her legacy now, to gather and sing … play … tell stories … laugh … and toast a great woman who knew exactly what Mary Oliver meant when she queried – “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
6:00 to 8:00 ish …? An old-fashioned piano bar evening where all are welcome to sing along … sit in and sing a tune … play a tune … just basically “carry on!” PARKING LOT NEXT TO THE CLUB – PUBLIC WELCOME!!
