Emma’s passion is connecting people from underserved communities to well-paid and stable jobs. She has helped place hundreds of Minnesotans in public sector jobs while also working to change institutional structures to break gender and racial glass ceilings to enable career success.
She helped create the Public Sector Partnership and the MN Pathways Program, initiatives of Governor Dayton that placed over 200 diverse candidates into the state’s five largest job classes across 21 state agencies. For this work Governor Dayton honored her and proclaimed “Emma Corrie Day” in Minnesota.
Emma serves as the President and CEO of Twin Cities R!SE, a nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of those impacted by racial or socio-economic barriers through personal empowerment, career training and meaningful employment. She has a Master’s Degree in Business and has been certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources since 2008. She co-authored “Learning Circles: A Handbook for Preschools in India,” published by Macmillan India Publishers. Emma grew up in India as a child of a single mother who instilled in her seven children, values of faith, family and community.
