Catering Guidelines
The following guidelines apply when using The Woman's Club of Minneapolis:
ROOM RENTAL & FOOD MINIMUM
Room rental rates will apply to all member and nonmember functions and will be quoted by the Catering Office at the time of booking.
SERVICE CHARGE AND TAXES
Food prices are subject to 20 percent service charge and 7.15 percent sales tax. Liquor prices are subject to 20 percent service charge and 9.5 percent sales tax. (Please note that some bar prices include tax and service charge.)
GUARANTEES
Please contact the Catering Office 72 hours prior to your event with the guaranteed number of guests that will attend. This is the minimum number for which you will be charged. If no guarantee is submitted, we will consider the last highest number given to the Catering Office to be your guarantee.
DEPOSIT
A nonrefundable deposit is required to confirm an event. The deposit will be forfeited if the event is cancelled.
SPONSORSHIP & PAYMENT
Nonmember events sponsored by a member will be billed on the first of the month following the event and payment will be due in 30 days.
Nonmember events not sponsored by a member will pay an estimated total one week prior to the event. In case of questions or error in billing, it is the responsibility of the client to contact the Club's Accounting Office to resolve any problem.
PRICES
The prices listed on our catering menus are subject to change due to market conditions. After the menu is selected, prices can be confirmed 30 days prior to the event.
FOOD TASTING
A food tasting may be arranged through the Catering Office at least two weeks in advance. Appropriate dress is required. Charges for this service can be billed to your account.
FOOD REGULATIONS
Health Department regulations and Club policies require that all food and/or beverage consumed on the premises must be provided by The Woman's Club of Minneapolis. However, you may bring in cakes from a commercial bakery (see below). For the safety of our guests, the Club prohibits leftover food and beverage items served at banquets to leave the premises.
WEDDING/BIRTHDAY CAKES
You are welcome to provide your own cake. A charge of $1.25 per person will be assessed for cake cutting and plating. A charge of $6.00 per person will be assessed for dessert buffets not provided by the Club.
CLEAN-UP CHARGE
The Woman's Club will assess a clean-up charge when required.
TABLE LINENS & SKIRTING
White tablecloths and linen napkins (available in several colors) will be provided for all events. The Club can provide skirting for display or buffet tables. Several colors are available.
AUDIO-VISUAL EQUIPMENT
The Club will provide one podium and microphone at no charge. Please inquire about renting additional audio-visual equipment.
PIANO
The Club has grand pianos in the Lounge, Ballroom and Theatre. An upright piano is also available on the fifth floor. A charge of $150.00 will be assessed if a piano is tuned for your event.
DANCE FLOOR
A charge of $150.00 will be assessed for use of the hardwood floor for dancing.
CHEF CARVERS
There will be a $100.00 charge per chef when there is a carving station.
BARTENDERS
There will be a $100.00 charge per bartender when sales are less than $300.00.
CENTERPIECES
You may bring in your own table decorations or have them delivered from a florist on the day of your event. The Club can provide the following items as requested:
Votive Candles $1.00 each
Taper Candles $1.00 each
Table Lamps $5.00 each
VACATE TIME
The bar will close and the music will stop at 12:00 midnight. All guests must vacate the building by 12:30 am.
