Tuesday Programs: Storytelling as Change
Guest Speaker: Mikki Morrissette
We tend to think of our lives as linear. But we are all parts of a greater whole. It is in good storytelling that we are brought together again into a wider circle. It connects us with the reality that we're all intersecting with each other, making new meaning from moments of interaction. For 35 years, Minnesota Women's Press has been telling the stories of everyday women. This talk from the publisher and editor will explore how the monthly magazine is focusing in 2020 on the relationships that lead to our ability to BE a society.
Mikki Morrissette is the owner and editor of Minnesota Women's Press, a 35-year-old publication that promotes the stories of Powerful Everyday Women. She had an 18-year publishing career in New York City, including at Time Inc. and The New York Times. She is the author of Choosing Single Motherhood, a guide for single women who proactively decide to build a family, and has raised two kids on her own.
