Tuesday Programs - Bringing Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley
Guest Speakers: Sarah Bahr, Christian Bardin, Reese Britts, Sarah Rasmussen
Come hear about the Jungle Theater's upcoming Holiday show Miss Bennet: Christmas At Pemberley with Jungle Theater's Artistic Director Sarah Rasmussen.
The beloved Bennet sisters and their spouses gather at the Darcy home for Christmas a few years after Jane Austen left off their story. When the middle Miss Bennet, Mary, unexpectedly encounters shy bookworm Arthur de Bourgh, she finds a kindred spirit and intellectual equal. But, since Arthur is a "single man in possession of a good fortune," she's hardly his only suitor. Mary must learn to be the heroine of her own story in this charming holiday romance.
Sarah Rasmussen will be joined by Miss Bennet's costume designer Sarah Bahr and Miss Bennet actors Christian Bardin, playing Mary Bennet, and Reese Britts, playing Arthur de Bourgh. Hear about the production, its creation, and get an early look at this wonderfully heartwarming play.
The Jungle Theater creates courageous, resonant theater that challenges, entertains, and sparks expansive conversation. A neighborhood theater with national impact, the Jungle tells stories that matter, with deep care and attention to detail. Artistic Director Sarah Rasmussen, now in her fifth season, is noted for bringing new voices and gender parity to the stage. The Jungle is deeply rooted in its Lyn-Lake neighborhood in Minneapolis and plays a vital role in the economic and cultural development of the area.
