Tuesday Programs: Exploring the Goldstein Museum of Design
Guest Speaker: Lin Nelson-Mayson
The Goldstein Museum of Design (GMD) is part of the University of Minnesota's College of Design, and was founded in 1976 on the Goldstein sisters' belief in the power of object-based learning to develop an understanding of good design and empathy for others. GMD is Minnesota's only dedicated design museum. What is in GMD's collection of 35,000 designed objects from around the world? What are the current exhibitions? How does GMD continue to support student learning? Come see what GMD is all about!
Lin Nelson-Mayson has been director of the University of Minnesota's Goldstein Museum of Design since 2005 and teaches in the University's interdisciplinary museum studies graduate program.
