Tuesday Programs: Facing Aging, It Takes a Village
Guest Speaker: Carey Lindeman
The best way to care for ourselves and our loved ones is to plan our course as we age. We are all aging and writing our story is part of the process. No one trains us for this time in our lives and it's time we stand up and take charge!
We will talk about wellness instead of sickness, ways to remain independent, how to get quality help when we need it and the choices that are out there. Our healthcare system isn't set up to walk us through this very confusing, complicated time in life. In our later years we are wiser and want to live out our best lives possible. What are the beginning steps in setting up care be it short-term, preventive or long-term care, addressing what's involved and how to make our own choices.
After gaining experience in lay care with seniors, Club Member Carey Lindeman launched PromiseCare in 2005 as a small, person-focused, hands-on model with the vision of changing the way we care for seniors. Relationships are what every human craves and she soon made that part of her mission and client care. Growing old with meaningful relationships, dignity and a sense of independence is the environment she still creates for our clients 14 years later.
The Tuesday Program is a Club tradition to educate, inspire and entertain our Members and guests. The cost for lunch is $18.00 plus tax and service charge ($23.28, inclusive of tax and service). Reservations are not necessary.
