Tuesday Program: Ard Godfrey Virtual Tour

Event Date: Tuesday, February 19, 2019
Event Time: 11:00 am

Special Guests: Ard Godfrey Tour Guides

Our Tuesday Godfrey Program will feature Godfrey members presenting a virtual tour of the Ard Godfrey House. This is a chance for all Club Members and guests to tour all the rooms in the Godfrey House, without leaving your chair in the Club Ballroom. Godfrey guides will wear 1850s period costumes while telling you about the house and the family that lived there. The docents will also take questions and tell their experiences of the Godfrey House. Special guests from the Minneapolis Park Board will also be in attendance.

In 1976, as a gift to the city of Minneapolis in honor of its Bicentennial, The Woman’s Club of Minneapolis undertook the restoration of the Ard Godfrey House. Today, the Godfrey House is the oldest remaining frame house in the city. The house has been impeccably restored by The Woman’s Club and is filled with furnishings and household artifacts authentic to the 1850s--some original to the Godfrey family, including the walnut baby cradle and the Chickering rosewood piano that graces the parlor.

The Tuesday Program is a Club tradition to educate, inspire and entertain our Members and guests. Coffee and tea are served at 10:30 am in the Lounge, followed by a Guest Speaker in the Ballroom at 11:00 am and lunch in the Dining Room at 12:00 pm. The cost for lunch is $18.00 plus tax and service charge ($23.28, inclusive of tax and service). Reservations are not necessary.
