Event Date:

Event Time:
11:00 am

Guest Speakers: John and Claudette Lamprecht

What are mushrooms really and what role do they play in our world? John and Claudette Lamprecht will help dispel some common myths and provide a simple way to place any mushroom you find into one of five groups. They have more than 100 combined years as mushroom foragers–Claudette since the age of three and John since marrying into her family. They've hunted mushrooms in many areas of the US, including the upper Midwest, Pacific Northwest and much more, as well as having hunted mushrooms in Germany as guests of a mushroom certification school.

John and Claudette are currently members of the of the Minnesota Mycological Society board and take on roles as Membership Coordinator, President and Treasurer. They are also members of three other mycological societies. They are part of a team that teaches certification classes in cooperation with the MDA and have been presenters and educators regarding edible and dangerous mushrooms at numerous institutions and parks.
