Guest Speaker: Henry Berman

Currently, we are seeing a backlash to the United States and its policies in the Philippines. This opposition, rooted in decades-old colonialism, is resulting in a sharp pivot of the Philippines toward Russia and China. Given the US relationship with China, what does this portend for the future of US strategic relations in the South China Sea?

Great Decisions is back with Henry Berman, a perennial favorite speaker. Join us Wednesday, June 17 for a virtual Great Decisions presentation. We will begin at 5:45 pm with a social time, and the presentation will start at 6:00 pm.

This Zoom presentation of the long and complex history between the United States and the Philippines includes a discussion of a leadership history that includes Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos, Corazon Aquino, and Rodrigo Duterte. It is historically as diverse as the United States and equally colorful.

Members-Only Event • To RSVP for this event, contact and Zoom meeting info will be sent to you before the event.
