Alliance Française and the Woman’s Club of Minneapolis present a luncheon talk with French author Christophe Boltanski

About the book
When the Nazis came, Étienne Boltanski divorced his wife and walked out the front door, never to be seen again during the war. So far as the outside world knew, the Jewish doctor had fled. The truth was that he had sneaked back to hide in a secret crawl space at the heart of the house. There he lived for the duration oft he war, using each room of the family home as a pretext to recall anecdotes, atmospheres of this unusual family.
About the author
Christophe Boltanski is a new, significant voice in the genre of the “true novel.” He is the director of the French review XXI. Previously, he has worked for the daily le Progrès Egyptien, and the weekly L’Obs. He was awarded the 2015 Prix Femina for his novel La Cache, recently translated into English as The Safe House.
Books, in both French and English, will be available for purchase at the event.
