Richard Carlson

Richard Carlson, a graduate of the University of Minnesota and the William Mitchell College of Law, was  a Hennepin County Public Defender from 1982 until his retirement in 2010.  As a  public defender, he represented thousands of clients in both adult and juvenile courts on charges ranging from school truancy to murder, and also represented both parents and children in child protection proceedings. Since retiring, he has taught Osher Lifelong Learning courses on public defense and criminal  justice in Minn.
